Life is tough.
There are periods of struggle and sometimes problems and challenges in our lives, which may seem insurmountable. As a person, I understand how this can feel. As a therapist, I want you to know that there is help available. My name is Debbie Baty, and I invite you to work with me. Already, your courage has brought you here and you have taken the first step. Please allow me to join you on your journey.
Together, we can lighten the burden that you carry.
How I Can Help
I provide services to adult individuals, adolescents, children and families. As an experienced therapist, I utilize an adaptive approach. To begin, I complete a social history with each client. I consider what type of counselling will help a client reach their goals, as well as what will be most comfortable. Then the client and I decide a counselling plan together.
I address a variety of concerns clients are experiencing, including:
- Adoption & Post Adoption
- Attachment Issues
- Children, Adolescents, & Families
- Coping Skills
- Grief and Loss
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Relationship Issues
- Self Esteem
- Separation and Divorce
Based on the needs of the individual, I utilize the following forms of therapy:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
A Bit About Myself
Throughout life we face challenges. My empathic, genuine and open nature sets people at ease. Within this safe space clients become comfortable to explore issues and begin their journey of healing. My goal: empowered clients leading healthy lives.
As a registered social worker with twenty-five years of experience in our school, adoption and child welfare systems, I understand the challenges individuals and families face. I know it is important to feel comfortable with your therapist in order for therapy to work. When you’re ready, please contact me. Together, we can take the next step.
